Itinerary

DAY 1. Arrival

Arrival at Zvartnots International Airport. Transfer and check-in in the hotel.

DAY 2. Yerevan-Dilijan (National Park)-Parz Lake-Goshavank Monastery-Dilijan

Breakfast at the hotel. Head to Tavush Region. Starting the day by visiting Dilijan National Park- a mountainous national park known for its diverse forests, rich biodiversity, medicinal springs, and cultural sites, including monasteries and the picturesque Parz Lake. During this day we'll enjoy some activities like hiking and cycling, with trails leading through forests and to sites such as Haghartsin Monastery and Goshavank Monastery. The park, which is a protected area with no entry fee, surrounds the spa town of Dilijan itself.  

Trail: 6,3 km, 2-3 hours

Difficulty: Easy to moderate

Highlights: Hike through lush forests Goshavank Monastery (12th century) Optional: kayak at Lake Parz or visit Haghartsin Monastery

Overnight in Dilijan.

DAY 3. Hike Mount Dimats

Breakfast at the hotel. Drive to Mount Dimats, which is a popular mountain in Armenia's Tavush Region known for its stunning views, unique rocky cliffs, and hiking opportunities. Located in Dilijan National Park, the pick is around 2378 meters high and offers panoramic vistas of the Ijevan Mountains, making it a significant destination for nature enthusiasts.  

Trail: 18 km loop, 1000 m elevation gain

Difficulty: Moderate to hard (but rewarding)

Highlights: Panoramic views of Ijevan Mountains Alpine meadows, wildflowers, forest paths

Tip: Start early to avoid midday heat

Overnight in Dilijan.

DAY 4. Odzun-Horomayr-Kobayr (Lori Region)-Yerevan

Breakfast at the hotel. Drive from Tavush Region to Lori Region. Visit Odzun Monastery (6th century), perched above the Debed Gorge. There's a great panoramic views of the gorge and surrounding mountains. Trail descends steeply from Odzun into the gorge. After approximately 3 km downhill, reach Horomayr Monastery, nestled against the cliffside. Built into the rock face- it's one of Armenia's most unique monastic sites. Follow the trail along the Debed Gorge, ascending to Kobayr Monastery- a 12th century monastery with frescoes, hidden among trees and ruins.

Trail: 12-14 km Highlights:

Panoramic views of the Debed Gorge, ancient frescoes, khackars (cross-stones) and cave chapels, authentic Armenian villages & architecture

Return and overnight in Yerevan.

DAY 5. Departure

Check-out from the hotel. Transfer to Zvartnots International Airport for departure.
