About this tour

Winter holidays in Armenia in 2022 promise to be interesting and bright. Many different events are expected in Yerevan as well as in its surroundings. Along with noisy festive events guests in Armenia can enjoy the magnificent views of snow-capped mountains, relax in health resorts or experience their winter sports in fascinating ski resorts.

Itinerary

Arrival at the Zvartnots airport and transfer to the hotel.

Breakfast. Start the tour with a nice city tour in the capital of Armenia: Yerevan. Covered in snow and lights, Yerevan is really beautiful on the New Year’s Eve. Visit Republic square where you can see the huge nicely decorated New Year Tree, then walk through Mashtots Avenue, the House of Opera and Ballet after Aram Khachatryan, the park “Cascade”. Then visit the remarkable Matenadaran Library including 17,000 rare manuscripts, one of the world’s oldest repositories of Greek, Persian and Arabic manuscripts. You will visit The Genocide Memorial (Tsitsernakaberd) where you’ll witness a breathtaking panoramic view of the city.

 

Overnight in Yerevan.

Breakfast. Visit History Museum; The State Museum of Armenian History and the National Gallery located at Republic Square, in the center of the city). In the museum you will get acquainted with the history travelling through the ancient and modern culture of the country.  Then take a trip to Garni. You will walk along the canyon, by the beautiful columnar basalt 9th century stone bridge over the Azat River to Garni the Pagan Temple, built in the 1 Century AD. Visit the Symphony of the Stones is a natural monument located in the Azat river basin, in the area of the village of Garni. Explore Geghard Monastery (whose name came from the legendary lance that was used to pierce the body of Christ. The lance has been kept here for centuries.

 

Afterwards you will see one of the most astonishing creations of nature in Armenia - Symphony of Stones or Basalt Organ as some call it. The place got its name since it creates an impression of a huge musical instrument. The rocks have the appearance of long vertical pillars of hexagonal shape, which is associated with the church organ.  It is a mesmerizing natural landmark that attracts both locals’ and tourists’ attention. It is hard to believe that the is not carved by humans.

 

You’ll also visit a local rural house and participate in the preparation of the Armenian bread “Lavash” listed on UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage list.

Evening is free for having a tour wherever you wish (Opera and Ballet theatre, Jazz Clubs, hookah bars).

 

 Overnight in Yerevan.

Breakfast. Drive to lake Sevan which is the 6th high-altitude and largest lake in Armenia with its sweet and astonishingly blue water. Here you can enjoy the breathtaking scenery of the beautiful lake and you may entertain yourselves. Sevanavank Monastery is situated on Sevan Peninsula.

 

After Sevan continue your tour by visiting one of the most beautiful towns of Armenia; the resort and spa town Tsakhkadzor. Enjoy the breathtaking view of the town. Have a chance to have a dipper look at the city from Tsakhkadzor rope-way. Tsaghkadzor is a cozy sparsely populated resort town suitable for skiers of any level. Favorable climatic conditions, rich infrastructure and enchanting beauty of nature will make your holiday unforgettable. Tsaghkadzor is one of the best ski resorts in Armenia due to its impeccable service. Here visitors do not have to wait in lines and instructors speak several languages.
