ARMENIA

DAY 1. ARRIVAL - YEREVAN SIGHTSEENG TOUR

Arrival at Zvartnots International Airport. Transfer to “Ani Plaza” Hotel in Yerevan and early check-in. After breakfast, you will have an excursion around Yerevan. First, you will visit “Mair Hayastan” Monument, with a panoramic view of the city. Visit ancient Manuscripts Museum of Matenadaran and Tsitsernakaberd Memorial Monument and Museum. - Along the way, you will see the Sport and Concert Complex, Kievyan Bridge, Baghramyan Avenue, the Presidential Palace, Academy of Sciences, National Parliament, Writers Union, and the Opera House. Overnight in Yerevan.

 

DAY 2. YEREVAN - PAGAN TEMPLE OF GARNI - MONASTERY OF GEGHARD - YEREVAN

Garni and Geghard. Excursion to Garni - the only pagan temple in Armenia. The beautiful Christian Monastery of Geghard is nearby. This ancient monastery was carved out of solid rock between the 11th and 13th centuries. Visit Arts and Crafts Vernissage for shopping.

Overnight in Yerevan.

 

DAY 3. YEREVAN - ECHMIADZIN - ZVARTNOTS CATHEDRAL - YEREVAN

Echmiadzin and Zvartnots. Visit the church of the Holy Virgin St. Hripsime.

Pilgrimage to Echmiadzin - Mother Cathedral  - the throne of the Supreme Patriarch and Catolicos of all Armenians. Mother Cathedral is the first official Christian church in the world, built in 301 AD. Visit Zvartnots Cathedral (the architectural masterpiece which was built between the 641 and 662).

Overnight in Yerevan.

 

 

DAY 4. YEREVAN - LAKE SEVAN- DILIJAN

Lake Sevan - Dilijan. Visit Lake Sevan, climb up the Sevan Peninsula and see Sevanavank and Geghama Mountain; continue to Dilijan, a small paradise with its charming nature and extraordinary architecture. Visit Haghartsin Monastery.

Overnight in Dilijan.

 

DAY 5. DILIJAN - MONASTERIES OF SANAHIN AND HAGHPAT - GEORGIA BORDER - TBILISI

Haghapat and Sanahin - Tbilisi (Georgia). Excursion to the Region of Lori. Visit Sanahin, one of the largest medieval monasteries in Armenia. Next visit the Monastery of Haghpat. The Sanahin and Haghpat Monasteries are considered to be jewels of medieval Armenian architecture preserved by UNESCO and included in the World Heritage List. Drive to Armenian - Georgian border, change of coaches and guide. Drive to Tbilisi. Check-in hotel in Tbilisi.

GEORGIA

DAY 6. TBILISI CITY - MTSKHETA - GUDAURI

Tbilisi - Mtskheta - Gudauri. Tbilisi sightseeing program - the Old and New Towns. The city offers a great variety of sights, most of them very ancient. All the places of interest in the Old Town are very close to each other, within a few minutes walk. Visit Old Tbilisi from Metekhi Church (13th century), and then walk to the brick-domed Sulphur Baths. From the Baths head up the hill to visit Narikala Fortress (4th century) - one of the oldest fortifications in the city.  Afterwards, continue to the Synagogue, Sioni Cathedral (6-7 cc) and Anchiskhati Church (6th century). This marks the end of the Old Town. Then visit the stunning treasury of the Georgian Art Museum and drive to visit the ancient capital and religious center of Georgia –Visit  Mtskheta (3000 years old) and see its historical places: Jvari church (6th century) and Svetitskholi Cathedral (11th century), where the Robe of Christ is buried. Both Jvari and Svetitskholi are UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Afterwards, we will drive to Gudauri ski resort. Overnight in Gudauri.

 

DAY 7. GUDAURI - KAZBEGI- GUDAURI

Gudauri - Kazbegi - Gudauri. A stunning drive from Gudauri along the Tegri River will bring us to Kazbegi - the main town in the region. From Kazbegi a leisurely 1.5 hour walk up through beautiful valleys and woodland leads to Gergeti Trinity Church located at 2170 m. Weather permitting, you may catch a glimpse of one of the highest glaciers in the Caucasus - Mt. Kazbegi (5047 m). Then drive through the dramatic Dariali Gorge before returning to Gudauri.

Overnight in Gudauri ski resort (2200 m).

 

DAY 8. GUDAURI - TELAVI

Gudauri - Telavi. In the morning, travel to Kakheti - the famous winery region. Georgia is the cradle of wine-making. In a local village, visit a farmer’s house to see a unique 300 year - old wine-cellar. Get acquainted with the Georgian way of wine-making, quite different from the European one. Here visitors taste 5-6 year-old red and white wines. Then drive to Telavi.

Overnight in Telavi in the guesthouse with shared facilities.

 

AZERBAIJAN

DAY 9. TELAVI - AZERBAIJAN BORDER - SHEKI

Telavi - Georgian - Azerbaijan border - Sheki. Cathedral (11th century) and then Gremi complex (16th century). Continue to the Georgian - Azerbaijan border, change transport and guide and drive to Sheki. In Sheki, visit Sheki khans’ Palace, a local history museum and shebeke craft workshop.

Overnight in Sheki.

 

DAY 10. SHEKI - BAKU CITY

Sheki - Baku. In the morning drive to Baku. In Shemakha visit Seven Tombs and Friday Mosque. Then stop in Maraza and visit the Diri Baba mausoleum. Visit Seven Tombs and Friday Mosque.

Overnight in Sheki 

 

DAY 11. BAKU SIGHTSEENG TOUR

Baku. Baku Sightseeing Tour: Memory Alley, panorama view, Shemakha Gate, Maiden Tower, Shirvanshakh’s Palace, Azerbaijan State Carpet museum. Afterwards, if weather permits enjoy a Caspian Sea Cruise.

Overnight in Baku.

 

DAY 12. DEPARTURE

Transfer from the Hotel and departure.
