On your biking trips, you will see thousands of unique khachkars (stone crosses), mountainous landscapes, fortified monasteries, river canyons, castles, forests and fertile plains, as well as the beauty of Lake Sevan (the second highest freshwater lake in the world) and Armenia’s beautiful flora and fauna.

day 1. CITY TOUR

Arrive in Yerevan. Transfer to hotel. - City tour. Visit Erebuni. The historical –archeological Museum –reserve. Erebuni is located in the southeast suburbs of Yerevan, between Nor Aresh and Vardashen. It includes the Erebuni or Argishtikhili Acropolis and the City – Fortress, which was a great economic, political, and cultural center of Urartu or Ayrarat State in the eight to sixth centuries BC. – “Mayr Hayastan” monument (panoramic view of Yerevan) – Ararat Brandy Factory was founded by Nerses Tairyan in 1878. Here you will see many rows of oak barrels.  Surely you will be treated to various sorts of cognac, which are called after celebrities, any you will be assured in the high skills of Armenian cognac masters.Dinner at a restaurant.

 

day 2. Yeghvard – Arzakand – Hrazdan Lake – Tsaghkadzor Town (60km ).

Bike to village of Yeghvard. Here, you will visit Akhpyur  Church (17 c.). – Village of Arzakand. – Lunch in Arzakand. – After lunch, biking will continue to Kotayk Province and its capital city, Hrazdan. There you will visit Hrazdan Lake. Continue to the ski resort town of Tsaghkadzor. Formerly the Soviet Olympic training area, there are numerous hotels, ski slopes, and three ski lifts completed recently to improve the facilities. Visit the medieval Monastery of Kecharis (11-13cc). This pearl of Armenian architecture was a renowned religious and educational center.It was built in the 11th century under Grigor Magistros Pahlavouni (the famous Armenian politician, military commander, diplomat and scientist). He founded the Monastery of Kecharis and built the churches of St. Grigor the Illuminator and Surb Nishan. Accommodation  at hotel. – Dinner at a Restaurant.

 

day 3. Tsaghkadzor – Mikro - Ddmashen – Tsaghkunk – Siramar – Lake  Sevan- Shorja Beach (65 km)

Bike tour of the village of Mikro and  Ddmashen, where you will visit  of 7th century Church. – Village Siramar. – Continue to Gegharkunik  province. – This region is situated in the eastern part of Armenia. The highest point above the sea level is Mount Azhdahak (3598m ), the lowest is the Masrik valley. The administrative center of the region is Gavar, situated on the eastern slopes of the Geghama mountain chain. First stop is  Lake Sevan, one of the world’s largest high altitude lakes (2000m above the sea level).Lunch in the “Ashot Erkat” Restaurant where you can try  the  delicious trout. – After lunch, you will visit the Monastery of Hayrivank with a late 9th century Church, a 12th century gavit and khachkars. – The biking will continue to Shorja beach where you  can go sailing or windsurfing. – Dinner. – Visit beautiful chapel (17 c.). –

Overnight camping.

 

day 4. Sharja – Karmir – Berd – Touse. (60km)

After breakfast biking from Sharja to Karmir. - Berd. – Touse. – Lunch. – Rest. – Dinner. Overnight camping.

 

day 5. Free Day in Touse

Overnight camping.

 

day 6. Touse – Ijevan Town – Selim – Makaravank – ijevan Town (65km)

After breakfast, bike from  Touse to the center of Tavush province,  Ijevan town. Ijevan is famous for its carpets  and large winery, which produces the best dry white wines in Armenia.  Lunch in a local restaurant. – After lunch, the biking will continue to the medieval structure of Makaravank Monastery. The oldest structure of this complex is a 10th century Church. – Return to Ijevan. – Dinner. – Overnight camping.

 

day 7. Ijevan – Akhatala –

GyarGyar (55km)

After breakfast, bike to village of Akhtala. Here, you will visit 13th century Castle and Monastery. – Lunch in Akhtala. – After lunch, continue  biking to village of Gyargyar. In Gyargyar you visit the Monastery of St. Sion (13-14 cc), medieval fortress and  khachkars.

Dinner.

Overnight camping..

 

day 8. GyarGyar – Stepanavan – Road of Pushkin – Vanadzor City (60km)

Bike to town of Stepanavan. - Lunch in the local village. – After lunch, bike  to Vanadzor city, which is situated in Lori province. This region is located in the northern part of Armenia. Lori is the largest province in Armenia. – Arrive at hotel and. Dinner.

Overnight.

 

day 9. Vanadzor – Lake of Abaran (60km)

Bike to Lake of Abaran. After a ferry ride to the other side of the lake, you will pass wonderful views of the lake. Overnight camping.

 

day 10. Lake of Abaran – Hartavan – Shenavan – Aray – Yeghvard – Zovouni - Yerevan (65km)

Bike from Abaran to Hartavan. – Shenavan. – Lunch in Aray village. – Continue to Yeghvard. – Zovouni. – Yerevan. – Dinner at “Tospia” Restaurant. (65km)
